Lars Eidinger was born and raised in Berlin. He got his education on the academy of performing arts »Ernst Busch«. Since 1999 he is part of the company of the Berlin based theatre Schaubühne. To his repertoire belongs »Hamlet«, »Richard III« as well as »Peer Gynt«. Over the last 20 years he worked with theatre directors as Thomas Ostermeier, Benedict Andrews and Ivo van Hove. In 2007 he shot is first feature film »Everyone Else« directed by Maren Ade. In the following years we worked with several directors as Olivier Assayas (»Clouds of Sils Maria«, »Personal Shopper« and »Irma Vep«) Peter Greenaway (»Goltzius and the Pelican Company«), Tim Burton (»Dumbo«), Hans Christian-Schmid (»Home for the Weekend«), Lana Wachowski (»Sense 8«), Vadim Perelman (»Persian Lesson«), Tom Tykwer (»Babylon Berlin«) and Noah Baumbach (»White Noise«).
He had his first solo show „Autistic Disco“ 2019 in the Neuer Aachener Kunstverein, where he displayed over two floors his photography and video works, followed by »2 in 1« in 2020 at RUTTKOWSKI;68 in Cologne, in which he cooperated with Erwin Wurm. In the same year the museum Marta Herford showed his work „Hotel Rooms“. 2021 he was part of »Sommerfrische Kunst« in Bad Gastein, where he installed his art in an old vacant hotel. Also in 2021 the Hamburger Kunsthalle showed „Klasse Gesellschaft“ („Class Society“); Lars Eidinger’s photography and videoworks of Everyday Life compared with the same subjects of old Dutch Masters. In 2022 the Vienna gallery ALBA opened his solo exhibition »ƎVI⅃« and the gallery RUTTKOWSKI;68 »Happy Garten« in Paris. Between 2019 and 2022 he had been part of several group exhibitions as in »Mixed Pickles« (2018, 2019, 2020), »Ain‘t No Mountain High Enough«(2021), »Back to Black« (2021), »TAKE MY HAND AND I’LL SHOW YOU WHAT WAS AND WILL BE« (2022) and »I see you« (2022).
Next to his photography and video works Lars Eidinger uses to display in nearly all his exhibitions opjets trouvé.
He works as a DJ and musician, released in 1998 the EP „I‘ll Break Ya Legg“ on !K7 records and did scores for theatre productions and documentaries.
